SadeeStaff & Patti:

One year ago we adopted a 3-4 year old Golden Retriever, "Sadee". Patti helped with the paper work. We just wanted to let you know what a special dog she is. She has been a real joy! She has a hearing problem and needs a little more attention but she is smart, sweet and loving. She goes once a week to a retirement home and is the hit of the party! She loves old people. She loves camping, horseback riding (she walks on the trails with us) and she loves sleeping on her pillow! You all do a great job with all the animals. My thanks aren't enough for all the hard work that you do! Thank you! And Sadee thanks you for helping her find a new home!

BlueRemember me? I was living with you until last summer. That is when my family met me at the Highland Games in Mt. Vernon and took me home. I am such a lucky dog. When I arrived at my new house, I discovered that I had a brother cat named "Tweety-Bird". Then I got to meet my step-sisters, Julia and Molly. They are mainly here on weekends. I sure miss them when they are gone. When they are here, George or Nancy (my parents) always tell me when it's time to wake them up. That's so much fun. I run up the stairs and jump in bed with them. I love them so much. About two weeks after my parents brought me home, they found a little kitty abandoned by the Skagit River. They brought her home. That's her in the picture with me. Her name is "Riber". We are such a happy family. Me and tweety and Riber have so much fun playing together. I just can't believe how lucky I am. I wanted to thank you so much for helping me find my new family. They have made my life complete.

Love, "Blue"

Mister
September 29, 1999

Just a short note. I though sometimes you might wonder what happens to your animals that you adopt out. "Mister" is his name; the black and white cat we adopted. We were going to name him "Tux" because he looks like he's wearing a tuxedo but "Mister" suited him better. When he first arrived we were calling him our devil child. But after a couple of days, he settled in. He's a great cat. A character and very sweet. "Mister" and "Emily" (the dog) have become very good buddies and play all the time together. At night I take the dogs for a walk and "Mister" is always trailing behind us. Just wanted to thank you for two great additions to our family. You are appreciated in the work that you do. I know that you have a hard, and sometimes, impossible job. Thanks again.

Sincerely, Debbie & Don

TomDear Staff,
On 7/31/99 we adopted this dog from you through Petco in Mt. Vernon. I am just writing to give you an update. His former name was "Timbers" and he had been a repeat guest of your facility due to his wandering ways. We got off to a bit of a rough start. Exactly one week after adoption he got away from in the parking lot of his new vet in Fairhaven after his initial check-up. Nothing I said would make him come back to me. I was devastated. We looked for him all day. He'd been spotted but no one could catch him. We had him broadcasted over the radio and posted at all vets in and around Bellingham. To make a long, agonizing story short, he was found the next Monday and we were reunited. He seemed very happy to come home. His name now is "Tom". This picture is one of this favorite spots (our couch). He's happy, very healthy and he's adjusted well. His coat has gone from somewhat wiry-feeling to soft and silky: good food, good vitamins and most importantly, lots and lots of love and attention. He has been a true delight in our lives. You folks have a tough job and see lots of awful things. I wanted to share a true success story with you all. I hope this was a bright spot in your day. Tom now has one home for the rest of his life.

Sincerely, Terry
