Hi, my name is Sweetpea, and I am a 10 month old female Pitbull terrier. I came into the shelter with some scarring. I was a little timid, but am opening right up. I want all the love and attention I can get! I am very affectionate and sweet, and just want to give my love to someone! I love to play and seem to get along with male dogs better than female. Kimber is a husky cross - collie. She is spayed and just over a year old. She is dog social, people friendly and has good house manners. Her owner has passed on leaving this little girl all alone. Come visit her!

Rowdy (8984)

Rowdy is a stray Bloodhound Mix a little over 2 years of age. He likes to fetch balls and likes children. He seems to do fine with dogs at the shelter, but is somewhat dog selective. He is a handsome boy.

Freddy is a 1 1/2 year old male Bull Terrier Mix. He is just too cute. He loves to play and is full of energy. He needs a good fenced yard and obedience training. If you have the will to train, Freddy would be a great addition to your home. The finder stated that Freddy loved her young children and her smaller dogs. She said he was just a love!

Oden (9073)

Oden is a baby German Shorthaired Pointer, Black Labrador Retriever Mix, about 4 months old. He has very pretty black and white markings. The finder said that he got along wonderfully with her children and dogs. If you are looking for a young dog to start obedience training with Oden is your dog.

06/01/08: Oden went to the Doggone Walkathon and was quite the hit with his walker. The young man who took Oden is approx. 11 years old. While they were on the walk he taught Oden to sit. When he got back he showed everyone at the shelter...stood back, loose lease and gave the command. Oden sat right down like he'd been doing it forever. He is one smart pup! When his walker left the shelter, Oden ran out into his pen with the toy he won at the walk just to say good-bye to this young man. I tell you it almost brought tears to my eyes....OK, it did, I can't help it..I'm a softy.

Rain (9049)

Rain is listed as a Akita/Pit Bull cross. She is 1 1/2 years old and is up to date on all shots except rabies. She has been very friendly at the shelter and is kenneled with another dog.

Toby is a Black Labrador Retriever, Rottweiler Mix. His personal dog walker wants people to know that although Toby wasn't used to a kennel situation and he was somewhat shy when he came in..he is now opening up. She has noticed he is very playful and very sweet. She says he is learning easily and seems very eager to please people. She just loves him.

Macaroni is Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix approx. a little over 2 years old. She is a lab cross female. She came to the shelter as a stray. She has been easy to handle and is very friendly. She loves her toys too!

Blue (9187)

Blue is a Boxer Mix who came to the shelter as a stray. He is almost two years old. The finder kept him for about a week. She stated he was fine around her little Chihuahua. He is a handsome boy and very trainable. Come meet Pyke!

Scout (9222)

Scout is a very pretty German Shepherd Mix, she is 5 years old. The finder indicated that Scout loves car rides, seems to do fine around dogs and her cats. She is housebroken. She is compatible with men, women, dogs and cats. She is obedient and knows her commands off leash. She sits, comes, heels, stays and downs on command. She is allergic to fleas so will need a good program.
She also needs some work on separation anxiety. She loves her people!

Duke (9591)

Duke is a 7 year old neutered male. This 25lb. dog loves everyone. He is very playful and likes to chase toys. He was brought in by Animal Control because the owner kept him on a logging chain outside. A real lover looking for you!

Rotweiller Mix (9567)

This older female is obedient and sweet. She was found running in Mt. Vernon.

Good dog Ace. This 7 year old German Shepard Mix is a great dog. He has been around kids and likes most dogs.

Eisenhower is a 10 year old St. Bernard, Irish Wolfhound mix. He is a very mellow boy. Don't be fooled by his size, he is friendly and easy to handle!

Missy is a 1 1/2 year old Shephard mix. She is well mannered and would be fine with children and other dogs. Missy is very obedient and she even knows how to sit!

Creston is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is 3 1/2 years old. Creston has tan fur with white paws that look like gloves! He is very playful and loves attention.

Charlie is an adorable Lab, Hound mix who is 4 months old. He is still not fully grown and has some baby teeth left. He is a great training age and very curious!
